The Land Down Under has taken a firm stance against illicit overseas wagering by restricting entry to a pair of unauthorized lottery platforms. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) pinpointed “Aicai” and “Redfox Lottery” as portals unlawfully providing international lottery services to Australian residents.
These digital venues operated without the necessary authorization under the Interactive Gambling Act of 2001, exposing players to risks without consumer safeguards. ACMA representative Fiona Cameron stressed that denying access to these sites is a vital measure in protecting Australians from potential harm by unethical providers.
This initiative aligns with ACMA’s continuous endeavors since November 2019 to block illicit offshore gaming websites, encompassing online casinos. A recent analysis underscored their achievements in substantially diminishing traffic to these destinations, showcasing the potency of their tactics in combating unlawful digital gambling within Australia.
