The UKs gaming sector is demonstrating its commitment to ex-service personnel. Representing a majority of licensed betting enterprises in Britain, the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) is backing the second yearly Armed Forces Day function at Leicester Racecourse on March 8th.
This gathering serves as a means to generate funds for armed services charities and to display gratitude for the contributions of veterans. The BGC is underwriting a dedicated race in recognition of the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, with veterans holding the position of honored guests at the occasion.
The BGC possesses a longstanding record of aiding veterans and military charitable organizations. Throughout the years, BGC affiliates have contributed nearly a million dollars to groups such as the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, the SAS Regimental Association, the Army Soldiers’ Charity, and the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Brigid Simmonds OBE, Chair of the BGC and a veteran herself, conveyed her satisfaction in the industry’s backing of veterans, remarking that the event presents a wonderful chance to pay tribute to those who have dedicated themselves to their nation.
