Fiorella, a veteran public servant, has assumed a new position as the Head of Market, Conformity, and Gambler Safeguard at the French gambling regulatory body, the National Gambling Authority (ANJ).
In this role, Fiorella will be in charge of overseeing the economic regulation of the gambling marketplace, particularly the commercial and promotional tactics of gambling operators. She will also be tasked with leading the ANJ’s efforts to prevent excessive gambling, a top priority for the agency. This emphasis on player protection is a central component of the ANJ’s five-year plan, which was formulated earlier this year.
Fiorella brings a wealth of expertise to this position, having held senior roles in various fields. She spent four years as Project Director at the General Directorate of Enterprises, where she spearheaded initiatives to promote the video game and esports sectors. She also served as Assistant Director at the Ministry of Transportation, where she was responsible for policies related to changes in the national road network.
This appointment follows the ANJ’s recent agreement with the French addiction organization OFDT, aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of gambling behavior and the underlying causes of addiction.
