The Star Entertainment Group has declared that their entertainment centers in Sydney and Queensland will be resuming operations shortly. This aligns with the New South Wales government’s strategy to resume activities following the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Star Sydney resumed operations on October 11th, after being closed since June 25th. They are only permitting fully immunized personnel and visitors.
The reopening guidelines for The Star Sydney were disseminated on September 9th. They have restricted indoor capacity to one person per four square meters, and outdoor capacity to one person per two square meters. Face coverings are obligatory, and individuals must be seated while consuming food or beverages indoors.
The seating limitations will be lifted a week after New South Wales reaches the 80% double-dose vaccination threshold. This is projected to occur on October 18th or 25th.
From December 1st, capacity is anticipated to increase to one person per two square meters. However, front-of-house personnel will still be required to wear face coverings.
The Star Entertainment Group also declared that operational restrictions at The Star Gold Coast will be relaxed from 4pm on October 8th. As part of the reopening, capacity will be expanded to one person per two square meters, with face coverings still mandatory indoors.
The day before, Star Entertainment addressed claims, including accusations of illicit financial dealings, labeling them as “inaccurate.” The Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority in New South Wales is presently undertaking a standard examination of Star Entertainment in Sydney.
